Background

Hi, I’m Eric Norton, the proud owner of Farmyard Connections. My journey to creating this unique business started with two passions: a love for animals and a commitment to serving my community. As a former Marine, I understand the value of connection, and I wanted to find a way to bring joy, education, and hands-on experiences to people struggling with substance abuse and/or mental health obstacles.

After my time in the military, I faced the challenges of living with PTSD and embarked on a personal journey of healing and growth. With four years of sobriety, I found that caring for animals provided a sense of peace and purpose that was life-changing. The calm, grounding presence of farm animals became a powerful source of comfort, helping me navigate the complexities of mental health and rediscover a sense of balance.

What began as a simple idea quickly grew into Farmyard Connections—a business dedicated to bringing the magic of the farm directly to you. From loving bunnies and curious mini pigs to fascinating reptiles and friendly chickens, each animal has its own personality and story to share.

Through Farmyard Connections, I aim to create meaningful experiences that inspire curiosity and bring people closer to nature. Thank you for letting me share my passion with you. I look forward to bringing the farm to your doorstep and creating unforgettable memories together!

I joined the United States Marine Corp Infantry at the age of 17 and completed two tours of duty in Iraq. I learned valuable lifelong lessons such as leadership, honor, integrity and discipline, which I was able to pass down to newer Marines, as well as clients that I have worked with during my time working in the Substance Abuse/Mental Health field.

I began working in the Substance Abuse/Mental Health field in 2021 as a technician for a residential detox program. I worked my way up in the field over the next few years, gaining valuable experience as a Case Manager, Operations Director and as a Program Director. I have successfully completed all courses and have obtained my CADAC-II certification and have learned over the years how important it is to maintain accurate and detailed documentation for each client, as well as the facility.
